馬興陳宅(益源大厝)
Maxing Chen House (Yiyuan Dacuo)
馬興益源大厝為台灣三大古厝之一，指定為二級古蹟，
為陳姓渡臺拓殖，以「益源」為號經商致富，其第二代獲取六品官職功名，於道光26年(1846年)著手興建益源古厝，至第三代子孫中式舉人，獲贈「文魁」匾，前埕也因就任官職而豎立旗杆座，並巨資收購附近土地，形成今日占地三公頃有餘的完整面貌，陳家也漸由商賈轉為書香門第，後代舉人及文武秀才輩出。
大宅規模三進六護龍，完整格局的運用，呈現傳統社會對家族內人際關係的看法，目前仍保存日治時期重修繪法，其磚、石、土、木優美色澤，精緻建築工藝值得探訪親近。

Maxing Yiyuan Dacuo is one of the biggest historical houses in Taiwan. It built by the Chen’s Family which now listed as a Grade II historical building. The Chen’s family become wealthy through trading business with the name of “Yiyuan”. His second generation of the family awarded a government post. Then, the Yiyuan Historical House starts to build from the 26th years of the emperor of Daoguang(1846 year). The posterity of third generation passed the imperial examination of the old examination system of China and rewarded a horizontal inscribed board with the words of [Wen Kui]. There is a flagpole in front of the house because of the post held in government. The used land of the house is as wide as three hectare which around the original house was bought with high price. The Chen’s Family turns from a family of merchants to a literary family and produces much outstanding posterity.
The house is with six rooms of Hu Long. The perfect usage of the space shows the point of view for the family relationships in the traditional society. It is worth for a visit to see the preservation of reparation painted of the Japanese Era. The brick, stone, soil and wood are in beautiful colour.
